I've taken a couple of Excel classes that I found quite valuable.

There's a huge variety of class offerings and you can work on them at your own pace. Check with your supervisor first, but you'll find how quickly you can finish up a course just by dedicating 10 to 15 minutes a day to the coursework. It's rewarding and fun.
