In General

HR is continuing to restructure, redesign and instead of having specialists: like one for retirement, one for health insurance, one for leave benefits, etc., they're looking at having generalists.

So instead of seeing mutliple HR consultants for your various needs, you will soon have one-stop shopping. Their goal for you when calling or visiting their office is for you to deal with a singular consultant who's able to answer all your questions and meet all your needs.

They want to hire more consultants, too. They're understaffed according to industry standards and currently have 1 HR rep. per 130 people and would like to hire up to 1 HR rep. per 100 people.

HR Re-design

HR has been undergoing a re-design of their processes for about a year. Last year John Duhamel was hired as the Re-design Transition Manager and has started the process for the UA system. Some people have been wondering what all is involved. If you're interested, the website for the re-design can be found here. Also, if you have any questions, comments, or concerns, PLEASE contact us, anyone in Staff Council, or at HR (John Duhamel more than likely).
