Get Toasted

Ana Richards, Director of Multicultural Affairs, and Jackie Debevec, Career Services Dept, are establishing a UAF Toastmasters Club.

Toastmasters teaches you to speak comfortably in front of a group, how to organize an event, and how to become a leader in the workplace and community. There is also the opportunity to become a mentor to those that come in behind you.

Meetings will be held on Tuesdays, starting January 27th from 5:30 - 6:30 pm in the Wood Center E/F Ballroom.

Staff appreciation day

We are appreciated! And to show this, the Chancellor has invited us all to an outdoor cookout on Thursday, May 22 from noon-2pm, Wood Center.

All staff welcomed and encouraged to attend! Nothing like a grilled dog on a warm, sunny day!

Fun stuff

Enjoy food and free fun this week:

  • Buy treats at Academic Advising's Bake Sale this Thursday and Friday, April 24-25, at the Wood Center from 8am-2pm.
  • Attend AquaMoon's feminist hip-hop writing, performance and artistic team's performance of Dismantling the Culture of Silence! The price is right at a cover charge of zero bucks and is being held this Saturday, April 26th, 7pm in the Wood Center Ballroom.

And other events can be found on the Calendar of Events.
